SEPARATE SPACE LEADING TO EMPOWERMENT THROUGH BOOKS

In the 1st week of August Astitva learning centre started the inauguration of library with the help of Sonali Gavahne the corporator and Bajaj limited. They gave us the space to learn and a huge number of resources.

The no. of books that we have in our library are 663. In our learning centre Anuradha Didi takes our Read Aloud, five per week. Read Aloud makes the students understanding of the story better while reading their books or novels. Through library they are getting to know about famous authors like C.S. Lewis, R.K Narayan, Enid Blyton, David Colberb, etc. The library also has biographies and autobiographies of Stephen Hawking, Malala, Chris Gayle, Steve Jobs, etc. We also have encyclopaedias like Space, Marshall Children's Dinosaur, My first encyclopaedia, etc .

Our reporting team interviewed Anuradha didi, our librarian. She shared with us, "the library is a silent place where students can read, reflect, write and research. A library helps in deepening the knowledge on subjects and topics taught in school. And use multimedia time for learning."

Here is the student opinion about the library which they shared with us, ''library is a platform to be creative ,learning through various books . Library provides silent environment to facilitate groups to study and collaborate. Library makes us learned about the different types of genres such as fiction, nonfiction, etc. Students like to read and make their learning or reading skills better. The main thing is that reading should be our daily habit. Keeping the library separate is in full worth for the attention and concentration required.

The Newsletter Committee feels that the library is very helpful for the improvements of the students. The committee urges the students not to waste time in their library period and concentrate on their reading skill.
